Technical and Historical Notes

"The God of Death is back from Hell!" - Duo Maxwell

When the XXXG-01D Gundam Deathscythe was captured and destroyed by OZ's forces in AC 195, the extremely durable gundanium-made remains of that mobile suit were taken to OZ's lunar base and mobile suit factory for storage. The five scientists who had built the Gundams plaguing OZ were also at the lunar base, captured and forced to develop new mobile suit technology to secure OZ's rule over Earth and the space colonies. Despite their apparent "cooperation," however, the scientists also began rebuilding the Deathscythe in secret, preparing for the day when captured Gundam pilot Duo Maxwell could return to the battlefield. That opportunity came when the Romefeller Foundation - the political force behind OZ - became split over a number of issues, and the "Treize Faction" of OZ attacked the lunar base, which at the time was still under the control of Romefeller loyalists. During the chaos, Duo managed to escape, taking his rebuilt XXXG-01D2 Gundam Deathscythe Hell to continue fighting on his own. At that time, the Deathscythe Hell was only seventy percent complete; later repairs and field upgrades would allow Duo to complete the resurrected mobile suit, bringing it up to its full combat potential.

The new Deathscythe Hell was a considerable improvement over its original form, with a more powerful twin beam scythe (which mounted a small rocket engine to give it more force when swung against multiple targets), increased speed and mobility, improved hyper jammers, and an "active cloak" system which served as both a optical/visual cloaking system (making the Gundam literally invisible to an enemy's naked eye) and as an external layer of beam-deflecting armor. These improvements allowed Duo to continue his fight against both the militaristic OZ and the radical civilian "White Fang" rebels, putting the Gundam Deathscythe Hell on an almost equal footing with White Fang's newest AI-controlled mobile dolls.

[1]The Head and Hands are small targets , and are difficult to hit.  Therefore, even with a called shot, they are -3 to hit.

[2]Destroying the Sensor Antenna will disrupt the Gundam Deathscythe Hell Custom's ability to receive radio signals and has a 50% chance of destroying the radar and laser tracking systems. This will eliminate the bonuses for Strike and Dodge.

[3]Depleting the MDC of the Main Body will disable the Gundam Deathscythe Hell Custom. At 50% the Hyper Jamming System will fail, and the Deathscythe Hell Custom will become visible.

Weapon Systems

  1. Super Beam Scythe: developed from the original Beam Scythe, this weapon is a high energy weapon designed for maximum destruction, used close in.
    Location: Hand Held in combat, stored behind the back when not in use.
    Primary Purpose: Assault
    Secondary Purpose: Defense
    Weight: 500 pounds.
    Range: melee
    Mega Damage: 1D6 x 100 MD per hit
    Rate of Fire: Equal to the Pilot's Hand to Hand
    Payload: 15 minutes of activity before the scythe shuts down and needs to recharge.

  2. Head Mounted Vulcans
    Location: 2 Barrels, One on either side of the head
    Primary Purpose: Antipersonnel
    Secondary Purpose: Anti-Missile/Defense
    Range: 4000 ft (1220 m; Double in Space)

Other Systems:

1. Hyper Jamming System: this system functions like a cloaking device, and renders the Gundam Deathscythe  Hell virtually invisible to electronic detection.

Unless somebody sees the Deathscythe Hell Custom coming, it always has Initiative (strikes first).  Even if it is spotted, the jamming system gives it a +4 bonus on Initiative, and a +2 bonus to Parry / Dodge.
