Technical and Historical Data

Little hard data has survived about Space Station Barge, however it is known that it was originally constructed by the United Earth Sphere Alliance, to be used as an "ultimate weapon" for keeping the colonies in line.  Never more would the Alliance need to risk troops or valuable MS in peace keeping rolls.  The mere threat of destroying a colony with the "Barge Cannon" would be enough to keep them in line

[1] Destroying the Main Bridge or Communications Array will deprive the station of all forms of long range communications, radar and targeting.  The station can still operate, but the cannon will be out of commision.

[2] Depleting half the MDC of the Main Body will put  Barge out of commission.    Emergency lighting will activate, throught out the station,  main power will fail, and most airlocks will seal.  Depleting ALL of the MDC of the Main Body will mean that Barge is venting atmosphere from the main hull, and is beginning to disintegrate.  Two minutes after the Main Body MDC reaches zero, the main power core will detonate, taking the remains of Barge with it.

[3]Depleting the Barge Cannon of even 25% of it's MDC will reder it incapable of firing.  Requiring 6D6 hours of repair before it can be fired.

Weapon Systems

1. Barge Cannon: Located at the front of Barge is the primary weapon of Barge. This huge Free Electron Laser has the power to destroy a space station with a single blast.  Although it can not vaporize the entire station, it can destroy enough of it, that atmospheric containment, and structural integrity will be impossible to maintain.
   • Location: center of Barge living hub (left side of pic)
   • Primary Purpose: Assault
   • Secondary Purpose: Defense
   • Mega-Damage: 2D4 x 1000 MD
   • Range: 100,000 miles (160,000 km)
   • Rate of Fire: After charging up for five minutes, the unit can launch ONE blast, and then, needs to wait another ten minutes before it can fire again.
   • Payload: Unlimited, the unit is powered by the space stations main power core.
