Technical and Historical Notes
|
The first of the advanced "Gundam" mobile suits to reach the battlefield of the seventh space war, the Gundam Leopard GT-9600 was equipped with a large number of guns and missiles, making it a perfect ground support mobile suit. Although unable to fly, it was equipped with a set of wheels on each foot, that allowed it to "skate" along the ground. It's most devastating weapon, however, was the "Inner Arm Gatling" which would completely cover the left are, and could be used to devastate enemy armor. Like it's sister units, the Gundam Airmaster GW-9800, and the Gundam X GX-9900, the Gundam Leopard was equipped with a "flash system" that allowed a Newtype pilot to remote pilot the mobile bit units called FT-9600's.
Although fairly common during the Seventh Space War, after the confrontation between the (Old) Earth Federation and the Space Revolutionary Army these units are very rarely seen. Only one unit has been confirmed in existance since AW0001, and that is the Gundam Leopard belonging to Roybea Loy, a Mercenary pilot working for the Vulture ship Freeden. Kid Salsamille, the Freeden's chief mechanic, would make several alterations to the mecha, enabling it to even fight underwater, with the addition of the S-1 Unit. Roybea Loy's Unit would eventually be severely damaged, and rebuilt as the Gundam Leopard Destroy GT-9600-D

[1]The Head and Hands are small targets , and are difficult to hit. Therefore, even with a called shot, they are -3 to hit.
[2]Destroying the Head Sensor Unit will disrupt the Gundam Leopard's ability to receive radio signals and has a 50% chance of destroying the radar and laser tracking systems. This will eliminate the bonuses for Strike and Dodge.
[3]Depleting the MDC of the Main Body will disable the Gundam Leopard.
