Technical and Historical Notes

A development of military transport vehicles that existed long before the invention of Mobile Suits, the Mozart MSRT is by far the largest production model to ever see wide distribution.  Although it has no armaments of it's own, it was designed to recover, and transport Mobile Suits of various sizes.  To assist in this, the MSRT has 4 high power winches, carrying more than 100 meters of 1 3/4" steel wire rope each.  There are also multiple steel wire rope straps to assist in securing it's cargo.

It's dual Hydrogen Turbine Engines power dedicated drive shafts for each side of the MSRT.  The Driver sides' Engine gives power to the Driver sides' wheels, and the Passenger sides' Engine gives power to the Passenger sides' wheels.  The MSRT uses drive by wire technology, and 12 wheel independant steering to maneuver.  It's large tires, more than 7 feet tall and 4 feet wide, allow the MSRT to have a very low ground pressure.

There is also a trailer unit available for the MSRT, but they are rarely used.  Most often they are found inside facilities that produce or repair Mobile Suits, but occasionally an MSRT will be equipped with one.  They are almost identical in appearance to the truck; only lacking the forward drivers cab.  The Truck and Trailer are connected by a large pivoting rod "tongue," and several electrial connections that operate the drive-by-wire controls.

[1] Depleting the MDC of either the Armored Cab or the Truck Bed will disable the MSRT.

[2] The MSRT can continue to operation on as few as 4 tires, as long as they are ballanced 2 per side, one front and one rear, but while carrying a load, it must have at least 10 tires, with one blowout, per side.  If two tires are blown out on one side, the unit will become sluggish and unresponsive, wanting to pull to one side.  At this point driving at speeds in excess of 40 mph will risk further damage to the vehicle and tires, disabling the MSRT
