Technical and Historical Data

The Varona is a ship in use by Satellicon, and is most likely an old Federation Ship that has been taken over by them for their private use.  The Varona also bears a strong resemblance to the Freeden II, and is most likely that ships predecessor.

The Varona's Main Hangers are located below the bridge, and units launch from the Hanger Bay Doors located in the Pre-Launch Hangars, forward of the Main Engines.

[1] Destroying the Main Bridge will deprive the ship of all forms of long range communications, radar and targeting.  The ship can still operate, controled from engineering, but is -3 on Initiative and -3 to strike.

[2] Depleting the MDC of the Main Hull will put the ship out of commission.  The airlocks, and Hangar Doors will still operate on Manual.  Emergency lighting will activate, throught out the ship, in the event of main power failure.

[3] Depleting the MDC of the Main Engines will disable the ships ability to move.  It can still alter it's orientation with thrusters, but will not be able to control it's course.  It will become a ballistic object travelling in a straight line on it's last course

Speed: Max Acceleration: 9g (88.2 m/sec2)  The Varona is capable of achieving Lunar escape velocity, but does not have enough reaction mass for long journeys.  ie, to Mars or the Asteroid belt.

The Varona is believed to be capable of Atmospheric re-entry, and orbital insertion.

Weapon Systems

  1. Double Barrel Auto-Cannon Turret(3): Located at the forward portion of the Varona are the only weapons that the ships mounts.  Reminiscent of World War 2 Battleship Turrets, these weapons are intended primarily for ship to ship combat, and are VERY powerful.
